Jigarthanda Double X heads for a box office failure

Jigarthanda Double X heads for a box office failure. Karthik Subbaraj’s directorial received a positive response on the first day, and though it had a relatively low opening at the box office, it picked up momentum from the second day. It had a good weekend, gathering 45Cr net. But then the content and the numbers started to differ as the film saw continuous drops in collections.

As said above, the film started very slowly at the box office, but with positive word of mouth, the film did well on festival days and posted decent numbers in the 1st week, but on the 2nd weekend, the film did not take the required jump in collections.

The film even dropped on Sunday compared to the weekdays with the World Cup Final effect. Overall, the film has just collected 50Cr+ Gross worldwide till now, and the share will be in the range of just 25Cr, which is a meager number as the film was made on a massive budget with big stars and is also a blockbuster sequel.

The movie did good non-theatrical business, but theatrically, it is a disappointing one. Maybe the bad audio and release date seems to be the reason for the film’s box office disappointment, and Jigarthanda Double X heads for a box office failure.

Jigarthanda Double X is a follow-up to the 2014 film Jigarthanda, which Karthik Subbaraj directed. Stone Bench Films, Five Star Creations, and Ivenio Origin have worked together to produce the film. Raghava Lawrence, SJ Suryah, Naveen Chandra, and Nimisha Sajayan played significant roles in the movie.

The music for the film was composed by Santhosh Narayanan, while S Thirunavukkarasu cranked the camera.
