Vijay’s Leo struggles to cross the 600Cr mark. It is widely known that Thalapathy Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action thriller Leo was released on October 19th and became a massive blockbuster at the box office. Even with the film becoming profitable for all parties involved, Leo struggles to cross the 600Cr mark.
Leo did exceptionally well in all the territories in 1st week, and everyone expected the film would easily break the records of Rajinikanth’s Jailer very quickly. Still, after the 1st week, the film saw a considerable drop everywhere except Tamil Nadu.
In Tamil Nadu, the film maintained a decent momentum with a good jump over the weekends, but with no good support from the other markets, the movie is struggling to surpass the 600Cr mark.
The Diwali weekend had worked only a little for Leo. Jigarthanda Double X, released last Friday, got positive talk and took advantage of the Diwali weekend. Leo’s worldwide gross has been at 590Cr till now, and crossing Jailer [625Cr] looks out of reach; even the 600Cr mark also looks tough now as the film has almost reached the closing. The Makers recently officially announced the film’s benchmarks, Leo’s official box office records in various territories.
Currently, the film is not getting any numbers in any other territories, excluding Tamil Nadu, and an OTT release is expected this week for Leo.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Thalapathy Vijay, Leo has achieved break-even and profits in all territories and has emerged as a true blockbuster.
The film has an impressive cast, with Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Iyal, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mysskin, Madonna Sebastian, Priya Anand, and others playing important roles. Seven Screen Studio produced the movie with Anirudh Ravichander as the music composer.
